FAQ
Q&A
Many people have the same questions about therapy. Will therapy work for me? Is therapy covered by my health insurance? Have a look at the most frequently asked questions below, and submit your own if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
Call or text at my number: 832-830-4821. Email me at woody@betterthoughts.org.
In order to start counseling with me, I require some basic information first. I need your First and Last Name, your personal email address, and your cell phone or landline number.
I do not recommend using your work email address, as sensitive information may be exchanged through it that may compromise your anonymity and privacy.
I recommend using a cell phone, as you will receive text reminders for appointments.
In addition, we may exchange text messages from time to time to schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments, or have other exchanges of relevant information.
WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER THERAPY?
I can attempt to use your insurance, however, my experience is most will not accept me.
If your insurance does cover me, then you are responsible for your deductible or co-pay. If your insurance does not cover me, you are responsible for my full fee, which is $150.00 per session.
I do work my clients though on cost, but that is negotiated for each client.
You are responsible for paying your bill after each session. Usually, I accept your credit/debit card and set it to autopay, so you are simply billed and I am paid overnight automatically. In the event your card is declined, you will need to pay your bill before we meet the next time.
If you do not pay your bills prior to our next session, I may cancel your session until you can pay it.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?
There is no real-world time frame for how long therapy may take. What makes therapy successful? Your willingness to be honest, transparent, and determined to do the work involved.
At the outset of our therapy sessions, you will set at least 2 goals you want to work on. Therapy is considered successful when you achieve your goals.
You may decide to terminate counseling at anytime, you may decided to continue therapy and work on new goals. It is up to you.
